Raised in the industry through his father’s general contracting business, he developed early skills operating heavy machinery, drafting with AutoCAD, and building financial models for commercial projects. His career began with top firms like Turner Construction, where he helped estimate over $1 billion in projects, and FS360, where he served as Director of Operations managing $20 million in annual revenue and expanding business units across five states.
Recognizing that over 70% of construction litigation is tied to water infiltration, Channing co-founded Evolve Contractors with Roof Technology Partners Scott Coger with a focus on solving complex roofing and waterproofing challenges through design-build solutions. With more than 24 years of experience, he has led Evolve to rapid growth — scaling from $1.9 million to a projected $8 million in annual revenue by 2025 — with plans to reach $75 million by 2030. By volume, Evolve contractors is currently the largest minority owners commercial roofing company headquartered in downtown metro Atlanta.

With a unique combination of technical expertise and a strong focus on client satisfaction, he has helped set a new standard for quality and reliability in commercial roofing. Licensed as a structural engineer—a distinction held by few in the field—Scott leverages his background to ensure precision and durability on every project, from routine repairs to complex installations. In addition to leading Evolve, he founded Roof Technology Partners to provide integrated roofing solutions that encompass design, construction, and long-term maintenance. Scott holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Auburn University, as well as an MBA and a Master’s in Structural Engineering from the University of Alabama.
